I will dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to promote next month's boxing match.
Former two time world boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the novice remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is actually going ahead.
