The Turin Giants Appoint Former Italian National Team Head Coach Luciano Spalletti
The Serie A powerhouse have appointed previous Azzurri head coach Luciano Spalletti as their manager until the end of the season.
The 66-year-old replaces Igor Tudor, who was dismissed after the Serie A side's defeat by Lazio recently.
Tudor arrived at the club in March to replace Thiago Motta but departed after seven months following a string of eight matches without a victory.
Spalletti led Napoli to the Serie A title in 2022-23 prior to assuming the Italy role, who had failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup during Roberto Mancini's tenure.
He helped them qualify for Euro 2024 but were eliminated in the round of 16 by Switzerland.
Yet, the Italian FA let Spalletti go in June following a loss to Norway in World Cup qualifying, with the Azzurri at risk of missing out on a third consecutive World Cup.
Spalletti has also managed Inter Milan, Roma and Udinese in Serie A and won the Russian Premier League twice with Zenit St Petersburg.
Juventus were temporarily led by Massimo Brambilla for their 3-1 win against Udinese on Wednesday which left them seventh in Serie A - six points behind leaders Napoli after nine games.
Their Champions League campaign sees them in 25th place in the group stage, with one loss and two draws in their first three games.
